Vestigium octuplicatus has predominantly been found in very close proximity to Asportatio octoamatis, suggesting a possible biological relationship. Some speculate this species is a direct predecessor of Ambulephebus sonysymphonia, while others say it's more closely related to Bombus colaphus.
Vestigium octuplicatus is included in the surrounding matrix (stone base) and coloration varies from a light gray to reddish to brownish to a dark gray.
