First appearing around 1900, this unit stuck around for a long time. Although the circumdactylos has since become almost extinct, it is still a recognizeable icon, and images of it are still common today.

Deferovoculae circumdactylos has been removed from the surrounding matrix (stone base) although some chunks of matrix remain around the unit. Coloration varies from a light gray to reddish to brownish to a dark gray.
