Dominaludus nintendicus-
(commonly referred to as the Nintendo Controller)

<=== CLICK the smaller photos for a larger view and purchasing information.

This is an early example of the "game controller" unit, specifically from the mid 1980s. Earliest examples of this species appear in Japan, but quickly spread throughout the United States and the rest of the world within only 2 or 3 years.

Dominaludus nintendicus has been fully removed from the surrounding matrix (stone base) and sits alone as a single rectangular unit. Coloration varies from a light gray to reddish to brownish to a dark gray. Dominaludus nintenticus is found in many different colors.

Special thanks to the Austin Goodwill Computer Works and Museum for their help and encouragement with this project.
