A Moment of Self-Realization

This sculpture captures the exact moment when the dapper young robot becomes self-aware.

Wandering through a junk-heap (as most dapper young robots eventually do), he discovers a small inspection mirror. When he turns it on himself, and gazes upon his own reflection, he suddenly realizes that he is himself, that he has an identity, and that he exists. Descartes would be so proud! The well-dressed machine never knew that his eyes didn't match, that his eyebrows shift to express his thoughts, or that he wore such a handsome mustache.

It is a moment of awakening, of awe, and of ego. A private and solitary moment, put on display for your delight.

This unit is welded together and does not come apart. The robot swivels at the waist (360 degrees) but has no other moving parts. It is treated with a clear gloss lacquer, but may show signs of aging over time.
